Full Overview
One of just 991 examples produced worldwide, with approximately 72 right-hand-drive cars supplied to the UK, the Porsche 911 R is far more than a collector’s item — it represents one of the purest driving experiences of the 991 generation.
Developed with a clear focus on reducing weight and enhancing driver involvement, the 911 R features deleted rear seats, the removal of the GT3 RS roll cage, a six-speed manual gearbox in place of PDK, carbon-fibre front wings and reduced sound deadening. At just 1,370 kg, it is approximately 50 kg lighter than the 991 GT3 RS. Unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the 911 R was presented in a heritage-inspired livery paying homage to the original 1967 model, complemented by a classic houndstooth interior that echoed Porsche’s motorsport heritage.
This C16 UK-supplied example is particularly well specified, featuring the highly desirable Single-Mass Flywheel, alongside Bose Surround Sound, Front Axle Lift, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Rear-Axle Steering and the Light Design Package. Further highlights include carbon-fibre floor mats with leather edging, an aluminium fuel filler cap and an extended two-tone Black and Brown leather interior with houndstooth inserts. The car is also protected by full-body paint protection film.
First registered on 29 September 2016 through Porsche Centre Reading, the car has had just two owners from new. The first owner retained the car until July 2024, before passing it on to its second owner.
Offered with a full Porsche main-dealer service history, this exceptional 911 R combines rarity, specification and provenance with the outstanding driving experience for which the model has become so highly regarded. It remains one of the most engaging and rewarding driver’s cars Porsche has ever produced.
