The Limited Edition Porsche 911 Sport Classic was designed to showcase the bespoke skills of Porsche’s in-house customizing department. A limited production run of just 250 examples were built and most of them are LHD.
Some of Porsche’s changes to the Sport Classic include a revised fascia, and a roof panel with a double-bubble to channel air down the middle. The roof bears reference to the Porsche 911 Panamericana show car and in the roofline of the Carrera GT.
The classic ducktail spoiler from the legendary Porsche Carrera RS 2.7 makes its first appearance on a modern Porsche 911 and is flanked by even wider rear fenders to enclose the Sport Classic's extended track.
The Porsche Sport Classic is a rear-drive Carrera S foundation, so the car has the 3.8-litre direct-injection flat six, with more power. The new intake manifold with six vacuum-controlled switching flaps that control the runner lengths adds 23 horsepower to the normally aspirated flat-six, for a 408bhp total.
Porsche’s six-speed manual gearbox is standard-fit, while the PCCB ceramic brakes are enclosed in special Fuchs-style 19-inch wheels designed that evoke the last Porsche 911 SC of the late Seventies and early Eighties. This Sport Classic sits 20mm lower to the ground thanks to the inclusion of PASM sport suspension.
Although not visible to the eye, there is extensive use of aluminium in the doors to reduce weight. The Porsche 911 Sport Classic also comes with a rear limited slip differential for very dynamic performance on the road.
The bi-xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights come as standard with black surrounds. The interior has a few various bits added like Espresso natural leather and the use of new materials including woven leather/yarn seat panels. Even the speedo and gearstick have the stripe detailing.
This Limited Edition Porsche 911 Sport Classic has the best aspects of the most collectable Porsche's in existence. A small production run of just 250 insures that this car will be perfect for a collection.
